If you want your Mango Blog to send email through an SMTP server that requires TLS or SSL (like GMail or Google Mail for Domains); or you want to write a Mango plugin that sends emails with BCC, then this plugin is for you.
Why would you want to do that? Read the full announcement post here: http://fusiongrokker.com/post/powermail-for-mango-blog
PowerMail patches Mango's API to return a custom Mail Utility CFC instance instead of the Mango core Mail Utility CFC that's returned by default. This custom Mail Utility supports BCC, TLS, SSL, custom connection ports, and a default TO address (useful when you intend to use BCC, for example).
In addition, PowerMail gives you a settings page to modify the mail server settings used by your blog, so that it can use something other than the CF Administrator values and you don't have to muck about in Mango's XML config files to change it.
Older versions of ColdFusion are not supported because this plugin uses features added in CF8.
OpenBD is not supported because it does not support the necessary UseTLS/UseSSL attributes: http://wiki.openbluedragon.org/wiki/index.php/CFMAIL
